Partner Author for this post: Kent!
Kent says "That was a once in a lifetime trip because we are never going back to New Mexico." LOL! It was an awesome experience! It's just that there were a lot of logistical problems at the event and so once is enough. I'm not saying he was a downer or anything- he did an AWESOME job planning and everything, it was just that there were a lot of unnecessarily stressful moments.
Sorry the pictures are jumbled from two phones and a camera.
Four Corners!
We ate at the Cracker Barrel. As long as there are pancakes everyone is happy =o]
Here is the dawn patrol that we had to watch from our car because we were rerouted by event staff who had cut off all the roads and sat in the car for TWO HOURS. See why Kent can't handle going back??
The pictures just don't do it justice you guys. It was phenomenal!
The boys were reading and laughing together in their hotel bed and I just had to take a picture because I was overcome with gratitude that they have each other.
Indian Dancers. I think this is another aspect of the state Kent didn't enjoy- it was SO politically/socially charged. Their situation did seem pretty bleak though. The poverty we saw just driving through the reservations was unbelievable.
This was taken by little fingers... =o]
Swimming!!
School!
Naptime! We had to reserve a spot and wait for the night time. We played games and hung out and ate dinner.
I joined them. It was a beautiful sky!
It was magical when they were all lit up!
The next morning we got to see the mass ascension from the car as we headed home. We were bummed because we just missed getting to see our Johnston cousins who were also there but on a different traveling schedule.
This was at our hotel Sunday morning before we left.
It loved this trip because Saturday night as we were going to sleep, Kent thanked me for coming up with a cool idea of where to take our family. It was sweet. We LOVE getting to travel together, and especially now that the kids are more mobile I can imagine it just getting more and more enjoyable!
