october (another one bites the dust)

and another one gone!
and another one gone!
another one bites the dust...

anyone else feel like this as the months blur past? like seriously. HOW????

kent and i had a sweet experience in the temple doing sealings for some family names my mom had given us at the reunion. it was overwhelming to feel the gratitude of our ancestors as we did the work! i'm so grateful we can go and do that!
my book club book for this month was the giver series. it was good, though i liked the first and last books better than the middle two. i came away from it with the feeling that we all have gifts we need to develop for the benefit of those around us if we want to have happy successful lives. good times!

we love disneyland in the fall!

after taking this picture we went and did a square dance with a fiddler who was amazing and seth LOVED it!!

the kids got to participate in this magic show!

and then natalie got to be the volunteer to float in mid-air!! super cool!!

all tuckered out!

on this visit my friend sarah came with us and she walked around with the littles so i could go on soarin over california with these two! =o]

then she took them on star tours

while jenna, seth, and i went on "buzz"

on the monorail!

i made the mistake of letting them talk me into getting suckers- never again!! it is a huge sticky mess and they are so big that the kids were tired of them before the color was even gone. but they got to have blue tongues so there you go lol

we played outside a lot!!

the kids made a cardboard fort because they want a tree house SO BAD but it is just not going to happen right now.

they ran around in their halloween costumes constantly

we saw meet the mormons! in shifts =o] us three went the first night, and the jenna and kent the next. seth just can't handle a movie yet! and this was jenna's first one =o] it was cool to invite my friends via social media to go see the movie- it was a great experience!

we did our service club

we fed the missionaries warehouse pizza =o]

we ate all things pumpkin!!

we went to the library with friends twice and enjoyed all the reading afterwards

we went to our co-op home school group (this is the craft to go along with "room on the broom")

we decided to get flu shots this year. here they are awaiting the horror...

our pediatrician also wanted us to get some blood work done for jenna and seth that i had been putting off so i figured might as well just deal with the torture all in one day. and i was right, it was HORRIFIC! but by the time we got back to the car they were their silly selves again.

we also went to the apple festival and took family pictures up at the orchards near yucipa. so beautiful up there!

seth face planted it =o[

here they are in the bakery, of course!

this is caleb's reaction to seeing all the people picking apples as we were driving home lol

natalie had a month full of learning and living life to the fullest!
making dessert on her own.

being creative in art class.

pretending to be a ninja and reading about them ever chance she got!

i received DOZENS of notes like this one...

she started on her present for the family member she drew for the christmas present exchange.

she is excelling in her karate class!

she got to "sock it to drugs" during red ribbon week along with the other festivities

and she became obsessed with american girl dolls. she got a set of books about samantha for her birthday (i had the same ones growing up) and finally got around to reading them. and then earned the mackay bucks to order the paper dolls online (which i also had growing up) when she found out via a mysterious american girl catalog that arrived at our house there there were not only books, but a whole slew of items to go with them. she worked so hard and is enjoying the fruits of her labor for sure! the reasonably priced samantha mini doll is the top item on her christmas list!!

caleb continues to grow in leaps and bounds!
he also loves art class.

he "reads" for at least 30 minutes every day (so he can then play an electronic, but hey it is still book time so i'll take it!) he is into finding superhero books at the library right now.

he too ran around as a ninja every other day. i have to admit he has some pretty cool moves actually.

and here he is car dancing to his current favorite song- teenage mutant ninja turtles! he is a crack up!!

and little jenna continues to be both a sweet joy,

and a destroyer.

here she is lovingly putting her babies to bed. first she read them scriptures ("and nephi said to jesus, we should love our families"), next she read them a story, then she sang them a song as she carefully wrapped them in her blanket and lay them on the bean bag. after which she turned around, balled up her fists, stamped her foot and yelled for everyone to be quiet because her babies were trying (stamp) to (stamp) sleep!! (stamp!) lol yep! that pretty much sums it up!

seth's hair is getting more and more out of control ha ha

and doesn't he just look like a little kid now?!?!

he discovered how to bite a hole in the applesauce and drink it!

he LOVES playing outside!!

we love our happy little guy =o]

like i said. another one gone!
