January (non-birthday related)

january flew by! but i have been saying that about every month...so apparently this is the pace of my life now. 

kent got a new office! finally has a room with a view! (to see the sunrise each morning =o])

sorry that for some reason this picture is upside down. whenever it is "cold" here we turn on the heater for an hour or so in the mornings. i realize we are winter wimps, but when it gets into the 40s at night, that means it is 61* inside downstairs and that is just uncomfortable! anyway, here are jenna and caleb eating breakfast sitting on the vent as they have made the habit of doing. 

the view from our balcony. almost every sunset this month has been a sight to see!

sometimes we have picnics =o] actually, there is a drought so i shouldn't be so smug about our warm weather. we will continue to pray and fast for rain!

i was trying to take a picture of my new haircut but the kids kept joining in ha ha!

the harry potter craze is in full swing over here! seriously, i don't know when it will ever end! jenna even has watched select parts of the first couple movies (something i would never have dreamed allowing natalie to do before age two!!!) we are obviously only going to let them watch the movies that are PG, but the books are such a toss up. we just started the fourth book and i'm still not sure they are ready for it. i guess we will just have to play it by ear (and heart!)

twinsie brothers =o] they are two peas in a pod! caleb can't wait until seth gets older and will be able to play with him. honestly i think seth can't wait either!

these two have the funniest relationship! i love hearing them play together. caleb still has a consonant replacement for a couple letters, and jenna is just learning how to talk so it is hilarious to hear their conversations! one of my brothers once told me i have the gift of tongues since i could understand what my kids were saying when no one else could and i am starting to believe him! lol also, i think all of them are going through a growth spurt because all they do is eat. especially caleb! there is no doubt in my mind that that kid is eating more than me- and i'm no bird or bunny either! what are we going to do when they are teenagers? find something that sticks to their ribs more i guess!

we ALL got the flu. it was horrific. i'm pretty sure it was a couple different strands too. i will spare you the details, but suffice it to say that i'm glad that part of our month is over and i hope to never get it again!

i took the kids to disneyland by myself TWICE! it wasn't as bad as i thought it might be actually. we all just worked together and had a great time! (unfortunately though, we are finding that there is a lot we can't do because the kids can't even go on a ride with me right behind them, so if we can't all fit in one vehicle we can't go. we will have to sort through and look forward to going with friends or kent for a lot of our favorites i'm afraid.) 

but it was still a blast! we went once just because, and another time for home school day!

the first time it was so hot we got ice cream!

we got to see the newsies! the kids were so excited! we hurried along behind the trolley until they pulled in behind a fence, singing their hearts out all the while =o]

we went to the jedi show. natalie and caleb SO wanted to be chosen. there were so many kids that i was worried they wouldn't be, 

but they were!

they received a certificate and everything. they were both so proud!

jenna LOVES it at disneyland. but i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to get a child leash for her so she doesn't bolt. almost every day, she asks if she can go "see buzz", probably because that is the only character whose name she can correctly say ha ha 

and for now, seth just chills in the baby pack. he is such a good kid... for now...

basically all natalie does is do school and play characters from books. mostly harry potter. =o]

basically all caleb does is school, eat, and play characters from books with one or both of his sisters. 

basically all jenna does is try to keep up with her siblings and get into trouble ;)

basically all seth does is eat, sleep, and watch the action cause there sure as heck is a lot going on!

oh and look adorable.
