Birthdays: Part 2

Caleb is 4! i am so excited for him to finally be four because now people will actually believe us when we say his age =o] 

we love having caleb in our family for the fun and laughter he brings. there is never a dull moment with caleb around!

we decided to do the majority of the celebrating on the saturday before his birthday, so that kent could be there for most of it. caleb got to have a special birthday breakfast and open a couple presents throughout the day.

he got to go on an outing with kent, and he chose bowling (probably because that is what natalie did on her last birthday so he thinks it is all the rage =o])

to say he was excited is an understatement. kent said they had a blast!

they turned on the neon right before they left! 

meanwhile back at home i got started on his cake during quiet time. he wanted a harry potter cake of course! they were suggesting all this insane stuff and when i expressed my doubts natalie said "come on mom! you're like, better than cake boss!! you can do it!" ha ha what a compliment =o] we settled on doing a main cake with quidditch supplies, and then cupcakes with wands on them.

when caleb got back he helped to frost the cake and some of the cupcakes, and do some wands of his own.

then we got to go out somewhere on a family date in honor of his birthday. caleb chose chick-fil-a...

when we got home and put seth to bed it was time for the festivities to continue! we read a chapter of harry potter and had cake and ice cream.

have i mentioned that caleb has the BEST reactions when opening presents? seriously it is the best part of the party!

then on sunday he got to wear his new shoes and tie and get his birthday blessing. he is in sunbeams now and totally loving being with the big kids in primary!

monday morning he was up with the sun and got himself dressed into his birthday clothes he got to pick out himself. (he likes the ninja turtles because they fight the bad guys and know how to protect people, and naturally he needs to know how to do that so he needed this shirt) here he is looking at his updated photo album.

what a cute little guy! seriously he is the coolest!

natalie's present to him was the broadway musical newsies soundtrack (which i didn't know has two cuss words on it- sad day!) and jenna gave him the holes soundtrack, which we have listened to like EVERY DAY.

i gave him a temple book to document the times he goes to the temple. both of the girls have theirs already (jenna just got her's for christmas) and i will probably give seth his for his birthday too. they loved hearing the stories of the times they went and i hope the great memories and traditions continue! 

then caleb got to have some friends over! it was not a party (i just couldn't handle it, poor kid) but even so i would have drown if my friend andrea hadn't stayed ha ha 

they had a blast so that is all that counts!

and finally here they are eating "birthday cake" flavored oreos and listening to harry potter before bed. he got to eat 4 because he is 4 now. caleb told me it was his best birthday ever. WINNER!

i can't imagine my life or our family without caleb just the way he is. we love him! happy birthday brother!!
