This is our Amazing Abby! She is the best babysitter ever and I am so grateful for her! I caught this picture as we were driving away on one of our dates that we get to have twice a month now that we hired Abby. Seriously, the kids all ADORE her, and she does the dishes after putting the kids to bed. Once we even came home to her cleaning up the basement toy room. Like a SAINT!!
One of my dreams came true this summer when we got to go to the Jordan River Temple! I have loved this temple ever since I was a little girl, though I'm not sure why. It is beautiful! And as peaceful as any other =o]
We went out to dinner before and ice cream after. I got blue for Shark Week!
Another time we went bowling together, which we hadn't done in years! It was super fun and of course Kent won.
We got this book when we got the house so on a date we filled in all the information of what we have done so far. And you know what? We have been working hard! And there is still so much more to do!!
For the first time we experienced a Megaplex. It was interesting for sure! We got dinner at the food court and then ate it while watching the movie. So weird, but also cool!
We got to have dinner with our good friends from California, the Hollingsheads, who moved here before we did. I didn't realize how much I had missed her until we started talking. They are just such GOOD people! And so smart and funny too! I'm glad we live close to them so we can be being together friends instead of online friends. =o]
We got to have my friend Andrea over with her kids for lunch and this visit changed my life for sure. We talked about a bunch of em prep things and after she left I did a ton of research about the stuff we had talked about and just decided we needed to finish our food storage NOW instead of a little bit at a time until the end of the year. Plus, our kids get a long really well together so it was fun too. Seth LOVES babies!!
We took Derek and Raycelan and Jonathan out to eat for the twins' birthday. It was fun to see them and get to celebrate them!
Then we ate ice cream at the park by Derek's house and got to catch up some more because THIS kid was entertained by the play equipment.
We got to see everyone for Melissa's endowments too.
Jenna got out these baby toys for Hazel to play with. It was adorable! She definitely got the Mommy MacKay with good reason!
In a perfect Niland storm my cousins Tiffany and Micheal were both visiting Utah with their families and so we got to go hiking with them and my cousin Marla and her family who lives in Provo. It was a great hike! And I was so grateful for Tiffany helping with Jenna because she needed more help than I could give on several occasions! I loved getting to hear about Tiffany's travel adventures over the summer, and about their plans for the future!
Caleb and Jake hit it off ever so well!
Apparently, Seth loves rocks. =o]
We made it!
The whole gang! Caleb is standing directly in front of Jake though so you can only see his shoes.
After the hike we all headed to our house for Family Home Evening treat. Ice cream with cousins just tastes better!
We also got to have a SUPER FUN dinner with all of Kent's best friends from his freshman year of college. As you can see the kids had a crazy blast with their new friends!
I love the person that Kent is around these people! He is just so goofy and self assured at the same time and I love it! We lived in the same ward as Jake and Melanie when we lived in North Carolina (crazy small world, right?!) so it was great to get to catch up with Melanie too. Now that we know we all live so close Kent has plans to do things with them frequently and I'm so glad because they are all awesome guys!
We experienced our first 24th of July as a family by hanging out with family of course! The Murrays invited us to join them at the parade and then Salem Pond. We brought Jonathan along as well!
It was a cool parade, even though the kids spent the entire time anxiously awaiting candy that supposedly was to be thrown by every float.
My favorite part was the BYU floats and getting to meet Cosmo! Caleb got a sticker from him that he proudly placed on his window in the car lol!
Seth was DEAD TIRED and fell asleep in the car on the way to the Murrays to change our clothes, and again from their house to the pond. Each was like a 5 minute drive. NOT HAPPY.
But being at the pond was super fun! We all got to take turns trying out the kayak. I swam across with Jonathan and he kept making me laugh the whole time. Then when we got back I swam across with Kent who wanted to race at first, but then changed his mind lol!
Jenna and Owen are the cutest cousins ever!
Everyone fell asleep on the way home but Natalie.
That night I took Natalie and Caleb to see our friends the Hyers and crashed their family reunion! Since I grew up with the Hyers I didn't feel bad coming over for a bit so the kids could see their best friends from Madera. It was fun to catch up with Sarah and hear all about their upcoming move to Clovis.
Kent got a new car from work! He had been using a company rental car since we moved here, but he finally completed all the training and the paperwork went through so they gave him this Subaru Outback. He didn't get to choose it, but hey we will take a free car any time! =o]
We finally went to the dentist! Caleb had a cavity and Kent had some old filling repairs to do but other than that we got a clean bill of health. What a blessing!
Here are a few pictures from our trip to California when we stayed a day in Reno for Kent to work. We went swimming for HOURS. And went on a walk for more than an hour.
And had a lot of screen time that day!
Here we are trying to entertain the kids while waiting for our food to arrive (it took FOREVER!!) by watching JHouse Vlogs- we were even in two episodes!
Jenna had her half birthday while we were on our trip so we celebrated when we got back. Natalie made her a little present.
She wanted to play with everyone in the "sandbox" in our back yard.
And then we got to go out on a date just the two of us!
We went and got ice cream and then went to Target to get supplies for school. She is such a funny girl! Hooray for 3 1/2!
We all got a strange 36 hour flu. No one threw up, it was mostly just a super high fever and being exhausted and Seth and Natalie both got heat rashes. Jenna was the first one to get it and I knew she was sick when she asked to be put down for a nap, poor thing!
Whew! If you read that whole thing you must really love us! Hooray for summer and the post that never ends!!
