October Homeschool

One of our favorite things about going on field trips is getting to be with friends! This is one of Natalie's good friends, and her little sister is in Caleb's class. These are from our trip to the museum of curiosity.

Jenna is pretty adventurous!

Seth loves the earthquake simulator! =o]

80 miles per hour winds!

Seth in the maze! He is fast and I have almost lost him more than once!

This hill at the gardens was the best adventure of the day- it is one wild run!

It is such a beautiful place for a picnic!

Thank you David Shannon, for Seth's favorite book: No David!

This is Caleb begrudgingly participating in book club (his best friend couldn't come at the last minute and needless to say he was beyond disappointed).

We love David Shannon! When we finished studying him, we started Lucy Cousins, and we are enjoying her bright, playful books too!

Caleb, hard at "work" building robots!

We had a service project at our house, making cards and baking pumpkin muffins! I forgot to take a picture of the kids and our friends who came to help us, because baking is hectic with just my own kids not to mention adding a few more.

We love doing our art projects each week!

We wrote poems to go with our projects.

Caleb's cat with paw prints in the rain.

Natalie's Japanese Cherry Blossom paper lantern.

Caleb likes to build his own version of the robots he is assigned each week. It is adorable!

We went on an awesome field trip to the MoA at BYU. The Murrays came, and so did Melissa, and then Derek joined us for a picnic after. SO FUN!!

I love library day! Everyone reads happily like there's no tomorrow. =o]

We could not live without books! We read this book and had such a fun time listening to a shortened version of the broadcast, and then making little aliens out of playdoh!

We went to the aquarium and it was decorated for Halloween.

This bird was SO TALKATIVE today! We have never heard him before, but that day we stood and talked with him for several minutes back and forth the whole time. So fun!

I have a feeling this tiki party room is going to be our best friend in the winter.

It is the cutest thing ever when we are on a science field trip and Jenna asks for her observation journal. And of course Seth has to follow suit.

We found the COOLEST park with our Friday Friends! Jenna was climbing up this thing SO HIGH! I swear if she lives to adulthood it will be a miracle!

We went on the Lucy Cousins website and watched a video on how she comes up with her characters. Artists are so amazing. It was so cool to watch a blank piece of paper turn into a cute little mouse baking cookies. Then the kids got to dress up her most famous character, Maisy

It was adorable. Sometimes I think I don't utilize the internet like I should lol!

Every week Natalie reads a chapter book, and does a project to go along with it. One week she read Charlotte's Web, and asked me to teach her how to knit a scarf so she could be like a spider.... which quickly turned into crocheting a stocking Christmas ornament for her tree instead. WIN. Do you have any idea how long it would have taken us to do an entire scarf? I don't, and I'm grateful I did not have to find out!! Maybe on our Christmas break I would be able to emotionally handle taking the time and having the patience to teach her.

We had a Halloween party at our house with our homeschool group! There were 8 moms there, and I didn't count the children lol! It was SO FUN!!

Costume parade!

Yummy snacks and treats!!

Fun Friday Friends!

Hooray for another great month!!
